Find below all our hockey teams for the 2019 season. Good luck!

If your child is no longer wanting to play for KIS, you must let Miss Turner (jturner@kamoint.school.nz) know before Friday 1st March.

Boys 1st XI

Scott Illerbrun, Baylee Gorrie, Nathan Vendt, Sheldon Michelsen, Aaron Harrison, Cohen Douglas, Hayden Turner, Tommy Litchfield, Dylan Browne, Kalym Werder, Kade Cuff, Kade Manahi, Hunter Martin and Nahuel Racioppi.

We are requiring a goal keeper for this team, to make 15 players. One player will be added before AIMS Games, to complete a squad of 16. This player does have to play for KIS throughout the season to be eligible.

Girls 1st XI

Georgia Cross, Ella Currie, Kate Illerbrun, Nikita Forsyth, Olivia Tattersfield, Molly Wilson, Brooke Hay, Kahneisha Woods-Eruera, Jade Bean, Kaja Haenga-Plank, Amber Woodworth, Alexis Hannam, Abbie Cathcart and Danielle Iwashita (GK).

Two players will be added before AIMS Games, to complete a squad of 16. These players do have to play for KIS throughout the season to be eligible.

Elliott Stoddart, Kade Trubshoe, Johnny Dinnan, Sam Ackers, Cameron Groves, Quin Bamford, Dante Edmonds, Jayden Booth, Luca Lawson, Joshua Chapman, Jivahn Herbert, Seth Jones, Korban Henty, Liam Harvey and Shelby Huang.

Boys will need to take turns in the goal.

Girls 2nd XI

Finn Gilbert-Keene, Waimirirangi Seve, Ariane Walsh, Lily Thompson, Suzie Finlayson, Danni Cooper, Poppy Wilde (GK), Holly Raitt, Samantha Wech, Greer James, Brooke Woodworth, Amelia Attwood, Vienna Monaghan, Kaleigh Soper and Summer Overton.

Note: most of these girls are Year 8’s.

Girls Red

Dorne Hyman, Anja Hyman, Maia Henry, Charisse Harvey, Chloe Severinson, Amy Sander, Aimee Harrison, Mikayla Webb, Sam MacDonald, Carley Donaldson, Ella Martin, Madison Ballentine and Jaime McInerney.

Girls will need to take turns in the goal.

Girls Green

Charlee Martinovich, Pheonix Brothers, Aislin Brophy, Lucia Fenwick, Megan Pascoe, Lily Craig, Taylah Boyce, Lucy-May Brown, Abbey Palmer, Emma Jones, Jayde Rushbrook and Kaitlyn Murray,

Girls will need to take turns in the goal.

Notes: we believe the Girls Red and Green teams will be on a reasonably even playing field and look for player development in 2020, if they are Year 7’s this year.

1-2 girls will join the 1st XI before AIMS Games, to complete the full squad. These girls can come from the 2nd XI, Red or Green teams.

We would be keen on 1-2 more players for the Red and Green teams, so if you know of anyone, get in touch with Miss Turner and let her know.

New Zealand Women’s Hockey Team for 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games

Congratulations to those named to the New Zealand Women’s hockey team which includes 5 Northlanders, 4 of which are former Kamo Intermediate students.

Ella Gunson, Samantha Harrison, Madison Doar and Captain Stacey Michelsen, who all attended KIS were named to the squad along with fellow Northlander Brooke Neal. Sam and Madi (who is the youngest in the team at 18) both played for the KIS 1st XI while they were here at Kamo Intermediate.

Well done to all those selected and we look forward to watching you all in the hockey competition (5-14 April) with their first game against Scotland 1.30pm (NZ time) on Tuesday 5 April.
