Distance learning includes: Google classroom activities, PBL – passion based learning project, unplugged learning, and keeping a diary.
If you have facebook, please follow our school page – Kamo Intermediate School – KIS. This is where we will put new interactive family based activities that will cover many different learning areas. The best part about these activities is that they are fun and include everyone in your ‘bubble’.
Each class will be using Google Classroom as a base for online distance learning activities. Your child will know how to use this as a tool to support their learning.
We encourage your child to spend a small proportion of the day working on Google Classroom activities if possible.
We would also like to encourage your child to start a passion based project. It should be something that your child is interested in researching, creating, designing, doing or perhaps becoming. The learning can be recorded in multiple ways, either digitally or traditionally.
We will keep you updated on any changes via email, this page, and the school facebook page.
Over the time that we are working on distance learning you can take part in a range of unplugged activities. These are activities that do not require a device. Below you will find some screenshots of the first three, then a pdf that you can download with a huge range of activities. These have been arranged into weeks, so you can schedule when you will do the activities. You may find that you want to tackle more than one or two in a day. We have made sure there are more than enough for the time we will be away from school.
