Northland DHB has launched a two-week survey to get public feedback on how well the support system is doing to help those isolated at home with COVID-19.

There have been positive experiences of people who received food parcels or were helped by getting prescriptions dropped off.

It would be good to capture what is going well and what people found helpful. We would like to hear about whānau experiences, praise where it is due, and things that could be done better.

COVID-19 Care in the Community has been coordinated through a Northland DHB regional hub.

There are four local Kaupapa Māori Hubs, the Ministry of Social Development 0800 Welfare Line and community connectors, a Clinical Hub through Mahitahi Hauora, and a network of Māori and community providers to reach whānau across Northland, Te Tai Tokerau region.

This support network worked alongside GP practices, providing clinical oversight of their patients. In addition, Mahitahi Hauora followed up with those not enrolled in a GP practice needing assistance. Many people managed well on their own and did not need either manaaki support or clinical assistance.

We want to reach people as far and wide across the region to hear about their experiences and understand if information, resources and support have been practical.
