Tena koutou katoa

Welcome to the start of Term Four.  I hope you all had an enjoyable few weeks with your tamariki.

We have a busy nine weeks ahead of us with a number of class and school wide activities.  These include a Northland Mathex Championships, school Lit Quiz, KIS and Whangarei athletics, our school enterprise market day, Kapa Haka Wananga, school wide sports activities, summative and formative assessments, high school orientation visits, Y8 graduation dance and our team and school prize givings.

You may have read recently that a number of schools have been successful in having lunches supplied to students from next year.  As a decile 5 school, we are one of 16% of schools lucky enough to have been selected. This will start from Term Two 2021.  With so many students coming to school having not eaten and having no lunch, we see this as a huge plus.

We have enrolled over 300 incoming Y7 students for 2021 which is fantastic.  If you know of any parents who have yet to enrol their child/ren into intermediate next year, please encourage them to do so. It certainly makes a huge difference to our planning when we know how many students we have coming to us.  We certainly appreciate those who have enrolled and been to school to have their personal interview with one of our staff.  If a zoom interview would be preferable, we can accommodate that request.

Looking forward to a great term and hope to see many of you at our various events throughout the year.

Ngā mihi
