Hailes Road Entrance and Traffic

Kia ora Parents/Whanau

Over the past week we have noticed an increase in the number of vehicles entering the school grounds to drop off their child/ren – some at great speed.

We are also seeing an increase in the number of cars parking on the yellow lines close to the school gates. This makes it extremely dangerous for our students to cross the road by the school gates. School staff on duty in this area are very concerned about the lack of visibility when this happens.

To ensure the safety of both students and staff who use this area, we would like to remind you that the drop off area at the front of the school is for buses and official taxis only, and that the yellow lines mean no parking at any time.

Caregivers who drop off and/or collect their child/ren need to arrange to do so in one of the nearby streets (e.g. Kamo Road, Carlton Crescent, Fisher Terrace etc) – even when it is raining, as Hailes Road becomes extremely congested.

We appreciate your continued support in keeping our students safe.
