New Zealand Women’s Hockey Team for 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games

Congratulations to those named to the New Zealand Women’s hockey team which includes 5 Northlanders, 4 of which are former Kamo Intermediate students.

Ella Gunson, Samantha Harrison, Madison Doar and Captain Stacey Michelsen, who all attended KIS were named to the squad along with fellow Northlander Brooke Neal. Sam and Madi (who is the youngest in the team at 18) both played for the KIS 1st XI while they were here at Kamo Intermediate.

Well done to all those selected and we look forward to watching you all in the hockey competition (5-14 April) with their first game against Scotland 1.30pm (NZ time) on Tuesday 5 April.

If you are no longer playing for KIS, you must let Mr Epskamp know ASAP so we can adjust teams if we need to, to balance out numbers.

Note: GK to be named after their separate trial on Thursday 15th March, 3.30-5pm on CET. Reanna Drake, Amy Martin, Danielle Iwashita, Jake Hainsworth and Pheonix Runciman. See Mr Epskamp if you cannot make it.

The 1st XI boys and girls are expected to be at the goal keeper trial as well, unless you are away at camp.

Junior Twilight Hockey begins on Tuesday 20th February and runs until Tuesday 27th March (6 weeks). This is held at the Northland Hockey Centre.

Payments and forms need to go straight to Northland Hockey, please do not bring them to our school office or your child’s teacher.
