Room 14's first blogMonday 7th March 2011Our Class Reps this year are Chloe & Ethan. They are both sensible but really funny Class Reps who aren't bossy.
Next week is camp yay! We will be going to the farm on Tuesday and participating in things like motorbike riding, horse riding, animal survival and much more. It will be a really cool experience for Room 14 and the many other classes which are also going to the farm.
We are still in the running for the 1st spot in lunch-time sports competition Scatterball. We have played and won one game winning by 53 runs against a Rimu class. Last year we got to the Scatterball Grand Final but didn't win, this year we plan to win it all!

Room 14 Second Blog4/4/11
Cricket
Last week the Room 14 year 7's played an awesome game of cricket with Room 15 and unfortunately we lost by quite a bit all we can say was nah it was bad luck. All of Tawa will be playing against Rimu and hopefully win and rid them of their winning streak.
Minibeasts
This term we are studying minibeasts which includes spiders, slugs insects and other smaller animals. We are doing a range of activities from finding their classification and migration habits and much more!
Soccer Practice
Owen Howard from Football Federation came and did coaching clinics with every one from KIS, he was such a great coach. Since we had such a small group, he taught us more than normal, like how to pass the ball, kick it properly and even stop the ball. I think he should come back next year and do it again.

Back to SchoolMonday 2nd of May
After two weeks of holidays we are finally back to school and its not the best weather.It has been pouring down rain over the weekend and is still going. Lots of people were excited about coming back to see their friends but lots of people are tired and want to stay home unfortunately we all have to go to school.
Specialists
This term we have two new Specialists Music with Mr. Hughes and Art with Mrs. Nicholson and Mrs. Phyn. We are looking forward to a great time with those teachers =)
Science Fair
This term I (Gabe) will be doing my Science Fair project with my friend from Room 2 and we will be doing "a Top secret experiment'' and have lots of fun and doing other things.

4th BlogMonday 16 0f MayReading competition
its coming up and room14 is preparing to WIN! This term I will be doing The Hunger Games Mockingjay.
AFL kick is a great new sport for Kamo intermediate and its time to get out there and practice it. The people who coach it are great teachers they taught us how to do a drop punt (which is a kick) and kick it with extreme accuracy. We cant wait until our next lesson tomorrow.
Goal Shooting Relay is coming up for lunch time sports and room 14 is still selecting Our team to steal the cup (legitimately).

Room 14 5th blog30/5/2011We have a reliever For the next 9 days. we have this reliever because Mr.Kini has gone to Perth for a rugby re-union.
Stage challenge is coming up and I am the video something…. Technician so it should be a great show (because i'm involved).
Winter Sports is coming up and the sports you can play Hockey,Rugby,Ripper Rugby, Netball, Soccer, Basketball, Table tennis.I am doing Hockey and Gabe is doing rugby.

Today Room 14 will be playing Nikau B in the semi-finals and if we win we will be in the finals versing the winner of the room 16 vs. 2 match and we are going to waste them (I hope).
Maths
This term Room14 maths class is doing a study about people at Kamo Intermediate we are calling it "the average KIS kid" during this study we are learning about graphs and tally charts we are asking questions like how tall are you and your gender and heaps of other questions.
Reading comp
Yesterday Tawa had its reading competition and Room 14 won! the three people from Tawa were were competing against each other to go to the school final. Bailey Room 14, Shania room 11, and Nikita Room 10, were the contestants in the Tawa final reading competition.

Reading Competition
Last Friday was the year 8 Reading Competition and the Tawa finalist was Bailey from Room 14. Unfortunately we lost, but we still have a chance with year 7s Reading Competition which is this Friday.
Netball
The new lunchtime sport is Netball and Room 14 have already beet Room 17 in an awesome match that left us on top 2-1. We are looking forward to winning our next game and the final.
Debate
Today at lunchtime the Tawa debate team is up against Rimu to win. The debate moot is "is international sports only for the wealthy?" And we are the affirmative.

Room14 8th blog23/08/2011Rugby
Today Tawa is versing Nikau in our second game in the cup and we are going to waste them like we wasted Kowhai 25-5 last week.
Cross Country
This Friday is the whole schools Cross Country and Tawa has been training hard and ready to win like last year!
Language festival
Last week we had Language Festival and we learnt a lot from all the students who helped out at the different language stations in the hall.

Rugby World Cup 2011
The K.I.S Rugby World Cup has started and everyone is very excited about playing their first game.This year the sport we are doing for the Rugby World Cup is Turbo Touch and it is a great new game that we have been taught.
Youth Summit
This year the 2011 Youth Summit was held down at Whangarei Intermediate where guest speakers Jonnie Black who works for the Peace Foundation, Sarah Walker world BMX Champion and Marcus Akuhata Brown is a experienced educator and gifted communicator. They shared their amazing stories of their lives with us.
Intensives
Next term Intensives start and i am really looking forward to them, there are some great opportunities out there for people to try and do and enjoy.The Intensive I want to do is Mean as Motorbiking

Tech Exhibition
Last week was the Tech Exhibition held in the hall by All the tech teachers at K.I.S
each class went to have a look at the tech expo which had projects from Boat Building, Hard Materials, Nutrition, Design Tech, Textles & Design, Computers.
Athletics
Tomorrow the WPSSA championships are on down at the new athletics track at Kensington. K.I.S will be sending down there top placers in each event.
