Stylie Seven5.4.11Welcome to Room 7s (the best class in the world) first blog.
All the students in Room 7 get along well now that we have settled into the year. All the year 8s in Stylie Seven have made the year 7s feel more confident at KIS than they felt at the start of the year. We all know each other pretty well now because Mrs Tavinor changes our desk groups almost every week, which allows us to make new friends and learn more about our classmates.
Our friendships grew a lot stronger at our camp at Marsden Bay Youth Camp with Room 11 it was awesome. We did loads of really cool things, including a really cool water slide, a flying fox, and a tour at the Refinery visitors centre. We also did lots of team activities which brought us together and taught us how to work together to get something done. Overall camp was a great success.
Mrs Tavinor's fun way of learning has made us enjoy coming to school everyday and we look forward to the rest of our year.

For specialists we are doing Textiles and Design, Nutrition, and Computers.
Room 7's class country for the world cup is Fiji, and we have been studying the country, and hoping that they win! So far we have learned what the flag looks like, what their rugby jersey looks like, and what the main and smaller islands of Fiji are called.
Recently Matai won the Inter-Syndicate Debating Finals against Rimu. In our team was Vanamali, Ella, and Quinn. The moot was "that parents don't understand their children". Congratulations to our team who did very well with their win.
For the rugby lunchtime sport, the Matai teams did very well too. We have also just finished presenting our speeches. We have started our AVAILLL Reading Programme, which is helping our reading abilities through movies.
Coming up soon:
The Roadshow is nearly here, and i am very excited to see it. Turbo Touch is also coming up soon, so get prepared for a lot of competitiveness.
