Making Ice Cream

20.05.09

Term 2 Rimu has been doing lots science experiments. We made ice cream with ice, milk, salt, sugar and vanilla essence. It sounds impossible but it worked! It only took a about 15 minutes. wow. We put the ingredients altogether apart from the ice and salt. We put the ice and salt in a bag and the other ingredients in a separate bag then put that bag in  the other bag. once every thing was in we shook it until it stared getting thick enough. We will be doing many more experiments later on in the term.

Lunch Time Sports Soccer

04/06/09

Term 2 2009

Lunchtime sports Soccer has already started for Rm.15. So far we have lost both of our games, but we still have hope. Our first game was against Matai, Rm.7 and our 2nd game was against Rm.18. Rm.18 beat us 1nil, but lucky it was a Rimu team. David is the captain of our team, so he sorts out all the positions and keeps the game running smoothly.  Even though we haven't won a game, we are still having fun!

Paihia Fun Run

15/06/09

Sunday 7th June

Kamo Intermediate took a bus up to Paihia to do the fun run. In the bus there were lots of Kamo Intermediate people. It was very noisy. There were lots of people there, especially for the 8k run. You could either run or walk, and do the 8k/6k. After the race we got a drink and a certificate showing all the sponsors. For prize giving not many people from school got a prize only a few. K.I.S 6 won an A.S.B prize. Once prize giving was over we hopped in the bus and drove home/back to school. We got to school at about 2:30.

Science Fair

30th June 2009

Term 2 2009

Last week of the term, and everyone is racing to get their science fair project finished.

The 2 choices of Science Fair are Technology and Investigation, if you don't do Science Fair you have to do Research. My partner (Regan G) and I are doing Technology, we are making a glow in the dark dog collar, with a light in the middle of it. It sounds a bit weird but it's to stop cars from hitting dogs at night time.

Most people in our class are doing Investigation, such as David and Shane (they're doing coke and mentos bombs!).  All the projects are awesome, but let's just hope we get them in on time.

Syndicate debating

28th July

Term 3 2009

It was only a few days ago when Rimu took on Tawa in the final of the syndicate debating.

Tawa was good, but Rimu was even better. The Rimu team included: Sara as the 1st and last speaker, Dayna as the 2nd speaker, Hannah as the 3rd speaker, and myself helping write the speeches.

Path from the negative team ended up making every one laugh, but his humor just didn't seem enough to beat Rimu. Finally, Mrs. Win came up to tell the scores, and of course, Rimu won!

Later in syndicate assembly, Mrs. Davis told us the scores of the Rimu speakers. Dayna got 84 points out of 100, Hannah got 85, and Sara got really high too. Both Rimu and Tawa did really well! Good luck for next year!

Basketball

02/12/09

It was only a couple of weeks a go when Room 15 started their Basketball winning spree. We won our first game. Our second game was against the mighty Room 2, and their really good basketball player Abraham! It was a tough first half, the score at a one-point loss for us, but luckily in the second half Abraham went off, and we ended up winning at about 17-4 to us! Our third game was against one of the Nikau classes, and their really good basketball player Cam! It was a pretty hard game but we ended up thrashing them! Finally, our last game for the Championship was against the might of Room 7. Their team was really good, and they ended up winning at 4-3. But, personally I reckon we would of won if we had Irihaapeti… But we still were the Championship Runner-up!
Here is a list of Room 15’s amazing team
