Our First Blog It's "The Day Of The Jedi - May the 4th be with you!"
Its already term 2 and so much has already happened, in term 1 we had activity week which is like camp only you don’t stay in one place for one week.
We met all our new class mates and have had a chance to make new friends.
Nikau was fortunate enough to to get into the finals of tug of war, we battled hard but matai won the shield. well done Matai.
We have had our class and Yr 8 syndicate reading finals and we have the yr 8 school reading finals coming up this week!
Specialist has been great but we are almost finished our first round we are starting our next round soon.
Yr 8’s and Yr 7’s are doing music with Mr Hughs and Mr Allen who was here last term and art with mrs Phyn and Mrs Nick.
Q: What is the difference between snot and broccoli?
A: kids don’t like broccoli! =) =)

Our 2nd blog!20.05.09Its our 2nd blog and week 4 already!!. everyone has started their new technology NB is doing Nutrition with Mrs Nisbet and Mrs Taylor and Textiles and Design with Ms De Bruin.
we have started new lunch time sports - Soccer and Bowls once again Nikau will make it to the top!
Last week we had the reading comp for the Yr 7's and Nikau won! well done Laura! and well done to Nathan who is also in NIkau! go us! that has now put us on top of the school for points. Nikau A has won one and nikau C has lost one.
we have had a great few weeks since the last blog we have so much coming up like Winter Sports day and 40 hour famine.

Now we are in week 6
and we are doing good,the lunch time sports is still soccer but the next sport is going to B rugby... TACKLE rugby =D (mouth guards required!)
2 weeks ago we had Winter Sports Day when schools from around Whangarei competed in a range of sports from rugby to table tennis. We are sure that most people enjoyed themselves while they were playing.
The 40 Hour Famine was on the 22nd of May where Kiwis across the country helped raise money for families and villages in 3rd world countries, and many K.I.S kids participated in it!
we are half way through the year and so much has happened but there is still sooooo much to come!

Our 1 + 3 blog15/06/09we have started our new inter syndicate sport which is tackle rugby.
we have ended soccer and the over all champs was RM 14 and the plate winners were RM 9 runners up for championships were RM2 and runner ups 4 plate was NIKAU BEEEEEEEE!!!!
We are doing well in specialist in nutrition we are making all sorts foods. and in textiles and design YR 8's are making game boards and the YR 7's are making pillows!
Science Fair is coming up and all of our class working hard on their ideas. you can choose from 2 sections- technology and investigation. If you want ideas for the Science Fair you can get help and ideas on www.sciencebuddy.org

The last blog for term 2!29/06/09This is our last blog for term 2! we have had so much happening in the last term I would be here for ever if I had to list all of the awesome activities!
In the past week we have had Roadshow auditions, debating, Rugby, and Marcel Bernard came to our school and talked about speeches and what makes a good speech.
Up and coming: Science fair! everyone is working hard to make sure their idea is all finished in time for Thursday, the social is coming up most people are looking forward to our first social this year! Pacific island group is holding a trivial pursuits night on Saturday, and THE END OF TERM!!! hurray! =)

wow we haven't written a blog in ages so much has happened since our last blog.
we have started a new technology:
-hard mat
-design tech
cross country was last friday many people participated and earned points for their syndicate.
nikau is studying a new contract: pasifika.
we are learning about pasifika and about their country.
netball and goal shooting have been our last lunch time sports everyone tryed their best but nikau get a place.
student of whangarei int. and kamo int. competed the annual KIS/WIS which involves a range of different sports. KIS put up a good fight but in the end WIS won and got the shield. (but it will soon be back where it belongs.) =)

Another blog already!
quite a bit has been happening already!
Hockey is the new lunchtime sport. The year 8's and the year 7's of Nikau have been trying to their best to turn out on top KEEP TRYING NIKAU!
Roadshow is happening again many students from the whole school are performing on stage, showcasing their talents.
Everyone is busy preparing their speeches because it's coming up in the next week or so. Good luck everyone!

our first blog of term 4.
intensives are coming up with lots of opportunities and fun activities to get involved in.
we are just into our 2nd week and we and we already have had our yr8's speech final with josh bradshaw (nikau) came 3rd!!!
and we have started our new topic witch is kiwiana.
we also have the social this Thursday!
we are starting to get into athletics and finding our best nikau students to compete for us in the finals.
we have two lunchtime sports at the moment - table tennis and basketball which nikau c is winning at the moment GO NIKAU!!!
well this is only the start of term 4 with so much coming up

last blog for 2009!!!
this is our last blog for ever... nah just kidding you will have two new people writing the blogs next year.
this year was packed to the top with lots of great opportunities starting way back in term 1 with activity week, all the lunchtime sports , 40 hour famine , winter sports , science fair, k.i.s w.i.s competition, specialist, roadshow, athletics, new topics, KIS gala, exhibition hall and cross country
since our last blog...
we have had the exhibition in the hall which is when the specialist and extension teachers put in the students work that they think is good we have also had the KIS gala including lots of fun activities like go - karts , spooky house where you have to go inside and lots of people scare you while you are trying to find a photo copied $5 note and if they find it they get $5! there also things such as were barbecues, bottle fishing, cake stalls, ice-cream and much much more!
Next week we have a syndicate trip to the heritage park then back for water games we also have the final assemblies coming up and... END OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! =]
