Start of Term Two3/5/11This is Room 9's first Blog for 2011 and WOW, what a great start to term two.
Science Fair is coming up, time for preparation for our projects. Everything has to be ready by the first week of term three
Everyone's doing a new Specialist cycle starting on Thursday and Room 9's starting Design Tech (electronics and tech drawing) and Hard Materials (wood work) we're all looking forward to it .
Extensions start this week a new learning experience will be open to many children in the school.
We are looking forward to seeing what K.I.S has in store for us this year.

The Second blog Term two for Room 9!!24/5/11The school has rotated to their second specialist classes,
Room 9 are having a great time at their new specialists which are Hard Materials with Mr Brown and Tech Drawing with Mr Epskamp.
The Matai syndicate has started our AFL Kiwi Kick with Lloyd Gurr (Bokkey) and Sarah Snowden we have learnt to punt the ball and will be learning lots of new skills this term.
The Reading Competition will be in term two week 9. We are starting our preparations now. First you find a passage to read from a book (one minute intro, three minutes reading and one minute for a conclusion) then you have to practice practice practice!

Nutty Nine's 3rd blog 201113/6/11This is room nine's third blog term two 2011
We have had a great term so far in room Nine
This term Shenee in Room Nine shaved her hair off for the Northland Cancer Society she raised $1600. Shenee shaved her head on the 28th of May, at her house, her mum, Savoy and her hairdresser Rebecca helped shave her head.
On the 2nd of June we had our Winter Sports day. The sports we could choose from were soccer, rugby, netball, table tennis, basketball, ripper rugby, hockey. It was really cool. Lachlan and I played netball it was awesome! We won one game and lost four games, that was sad.
This term we are doing the Reading Competition to improve our reading and presenting skills. Each class will have a year 7 and a year 8 to go through to the syndicate finals. the winners of the year 7 and year 8 will go through to the school finals where you will read to the school, there will be 1st 2nd and 3rd.

Nutty 9's 4th blog 201127/6/11The Reading Comp has started and Vanamali has got into the Year 8 school finals
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Savoy has made it into the syndicate Year 7 finals YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
We just did the beep test which is torture. You have to run from one line to the other before the computer beeps. If you don't make it, you will be out )-:
We are still working on our Science Fair which is going well.
Room Nine is currently building a hut for the Building Expo competition (helping build your dreams). Our hut will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the Event thirty3 centre Porowini Avenue WHANGEREI $7 entry fee but children get in for free it is on Saturday the 2nd of July 2011 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Room Nine's 5th Blog 201111/7/11This term we had Reading Comp, Vanamali from Matai (who is in our class) won for the Year 8's and Keeley from Rimu won the Year 7's.
This term we have started a game called Turbo Touch which is a mixture of netball, rugby (touch) and basketball, it is really fun.
One of our Class Reps Chiara is leaving. She is going back to Germany on a 36 hour flight (a day and a half). We are going to have a party to set her off on her big journey:-(
The Life Education Trust is going to come to our school in term three they are going to teach us about life.
We are coming to the end of the term we will see you next term BYE!

Room 9's 6th Blog 20118/8/11We have finished our Science Fair at KIS for 2011. We think that everyone did a fantastic job, especially the people that got through to the Central Northland Science and Technology Fair. It will be held at Forum North.
This week in Room 9 we had our last session of life education with Nadine learning about life skills.
Our school has given out chocolate fundraisers to the students to sell. Each box you sell you get a one dollar voucher for our school canteen and a ticket to go into the draw to win prizes like an I-pod touch PLEASE BUY SOME CHOCOLATES FROM US!!!!
Cross Country is next week in our school so we need to be training for it. It will be on friday week three.
We have had a great start to term three. 1 week down, 9 to go!

Nutty Nine's 7th blog 201119/9/11KIS Roadshow. Next week the people in the KIS Roadshow will be going round to
other schools and showing them their talents. The people participating in the roadshow are me (Josh) , The Duck Boyz, The Tribal Drum Crew, The Gleeks and
Keisha and Emily.
The Speech Finals (Syndicate Finals) representing Matai for the year 8's is Vanamali!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Savoy is into the Syndicate Finals!!!!!!.
Our new Lunchtime Sport is Turbo Touch and every class has adopted a country in the Rugby World Cup, in Room 9 our country is Italy!!!! (the best country ever! besides New Zealand).
This week we will be finding out what we will be doing for Intensives. Intensives is
a three day program. We where given an Intensives form which we had to put down
what our first nine favorite activities. We will have three activities that we will be doing in the end of the term.

Room 9's 8th Blog8/11/11Last week we had Intensives. Intensives is when each teacher will take a fun activity e.g. Paintball, Animal survival, Bushwacka, etc., etc. There were three days of Intensives on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1 activity each day which means 3 days of fun! Lachlan did Animal survival on Wednesday, Paintball on Thursday and Games, gadgets and gizmos on Friday. I did Games, gadgets and gizmos on Wednesday, Online interactive books on Thursday and Animal survival on Friday.
On week 5 we will be having a School gala, Talent quest and Car boot sales, $15 a park. We will be selling lots of things and will be having a good time. 21st of November 2011.
