Room 8s First Blog 20113rd of May 2011Welcome back from the first school holidays. Its day 2 of term 2. Term 1 was a blast with Camp, Ripper Rugby, Cricket etc all the year 7s settled in really well.
This Term we have a lot of stuff to do like prep our Science Fair for Term 3. We have the winter sports day coming up. All our classrooms have changed specialists we are now doing Art with Mrs Phyn and Mrs Nicholson and Music with Mr Hughes we really enjoyed Hard materials with Mr Brown and Tech Drawing with Mr Epskamp. We look forward to the rest of the year!

Glad everyone enjoyed he first week of term 2. All the extensions have started and we are really enjoying them.
Our new specialists are going great and we got a good laugh out of it! The new four square squares are a hit and now everyone is getting involved.

Room 8s 3rd Blog24 Tuesday 2011We have had three week s of fun specialists. So far we have all enjoyed Music and Art!
Goal Shooting the next lunch time sport, has started and Matai is training and we are wasting every other syndicate (this will be lots of fun). Four square was a blast and we are still in the competition!
SCHOOL PHOTOS are coming up and we are looking really good.
ICAS exams are soon so we better get ready, the exams are Computers, English, Science and Math.
Lots of things are coming up like, Reading Comp it a big Event. SCIENCE FAIR everyone going to be in a rush soon so be prepared at organizing your stuff!
Room 8s new topic is…… KITCHEN CHEMISTRY we have done two experiments so far, they are hokey pokey and popcorn! YUM! These experiments were really fun.

Room's 8's 4th blog 13th of June 201113th of June 2011Hello Winter Sports was great and everyone seemed to enjoy it!
Our Matai bp challenge is going great we have dun three challenge and are looking front to the fourth!
Some people went to the Language Festival at Kamo High and it was very fun and i think they did a great job!
The class photo's are over and a good thing for that, we are getting the photos back today and i hope we look good.
Two ICAS exams have been and it has been really tuff and two to go!
Our new lunch time sport is soccer and we can't want to start playing.

Stage Challenge competition was on Friday 24th of june. Our school came second and we won eight awards. :)
Science Fair has 5 weeks to go and we are preparing our aim and hypothesis ready for presentation.
YAY only three weeks to go and then it is the holidays.
40hr Famine has been and gone and everyone has hopefully got there stripes.
Today MATAI has had a beep test and everyone didn't do that well but better luck next time!!!
Soccer Lunch Time Sport has now finished and now our next Lunch Time Sport is Netball.
Reading Competition syndicate finalist are being chosen.

One week to go until school holidays!
The school social is on Thursday night and we can't wait.
Reading comp is over and the judges have chosen the winners who were Vanamali Yr8 from Matai and Keely Yr7 from Rimu and well done for those who participated in it.
Science Fair is not far away 3 weeks to go!!!
Roadshow auditions have started and good luck to the people that are going to audition.
Life education is coming next term teaching us about... life.

It is week two and week one was very exciting.
Bernina Wearable art pre-judging was on on the last day of the holidays and the dresses and costumes were AWESOME! the show is on next Thursday night.
Cross-Country is on in week three and we are practicing hard.
Chocolates have been given out for the school fundraiser and some people have sold there boxes already.
Science Fair has been judged and the people that are going to regionals have been picked and the school prizes will be presented in assembly.
Life ed has been to Matai and we have learnt lots about growing up and life facts.

Cross Country is coming up this friday so be ready and fit!
Mufti day was on last Friday and again this Friday. The theme is the Rugby World Cup.
New lunchtime sports competition is Rugby and Matai year 7 boys have played and we drew against Nikau.
WIS KIS challenge was on Friday and the boys soccer won and the girls hockey won but lost all the rest
Our new specialists are Textiles and Design, Nutrition and ICT (Computers)
Regional Science Fair is on next Monday at Forum North.
Bernina Fashion Awards was on last Thursday and KIS won lots of awards thanks to Hayley.

Rooms 9th BlogMonday 19th of September
Stage Challengers have performed at the Festival Of Lights last Friday night and it was a success!
Cross Country has been and Ella (YR8 Girl) came 1st and Flynn (YR8 Boy) came 4th and they are both from our class. KIS kids have been to Barge Park Flynn came 7th and Ella 4th, and now they have Qualified for the Northland Champs.
Rugby World Cup has started and our country is Georgia, but go the All Blacks!!!
Speeches are up and going and our class year eight is Kelcie.
The Languages lunch was two weeks ago and we go a three Course meal YUM! So now the French and Spanish Languages have finished for the year.
The Youth Summit was two weeks ago at Whangarei Intermediate School we both went.
The Book Fair was on two weeks ago and had some COOL books that lots of kids enjoyed!
Road show is coming up and people are making it in to the auditions to try and make a spot in the Roadshow
Last Friday we had Tabloids and we had to be our class Country witch is Georgia.

Room 8's 10th Blog8th November 2011Intensives were last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and it was a blast!
I 'Megan' did Adventures in Aotearoa 'art', tour de Whangarei and Kensington Sports.
And Hunta Did Animal Survival, Surfing and Mean as Motorbiking.
Good luck to the Kapa Haka team who are performing on Thursday at the National middle school Kapa Haka Final.
The School Athletics started yesterday it was the 800m run, Ella ,Flynn and Liam from our class all competed in this race and all of them did well!
The Talent Quest is coming up in week four so get practicing.
Roadshow was very successful and very funny and there is lots of talent at our school.
Capture the Flag lunch time sport is starting today may the best Syndicate win which is Matai!
