Room5s Pacifica trip

18-8-09

On Thursday last week Room 5 went to the Auckland Museum for their Pacifica topic.

There were heaps of fun things at the museum to do,There were different things there such as a Japanese Zero, an American Spitfire an Orangutang, Elephant, Turantula, Scorpion many different types of weapons like swords, guns, grenades and lots more.

We got to use a coconut scraper and  wear a lavalava, the traditional skirt of the Pacific Island people. We learnt the basics of using the coconut scraper and tie a knot without tying an actual knot. The coconuts were delicious and very soggy.
And that was our trip to the museum.

Hey guys Intensives is coming up so i'm going to tell you a little bit about it just incase you don't know.

For year sevens and new people to the school Intensives is three days of fun!
What you do is  you get eight choices of fun filled activities like animal survival and different sports. The only downside is you only get to do three of these choices.
But its still fun to have three days off school to do other things.

Now how i'll tell you about the activities them self.
Theres golf and animal survival and a whole lot of other great stuff.

Overall its a great experience to make new friends and learn some new skills.

And remember ''Have fun out there!''

ROOM 5'S FINAL BLOG 2009

22-11-09

What its like to have been at Kamo Intermediate.
The best thing at the school for me has been specialist classes where you get to learn how to make things like food and pieces of art.
You can also get to make things in sewing like bags , cushions and games.

I also loved intensives i did the pools and bowling , Bushwaka and an environmental summit.

Being at this school has taught me so much more than i already knew and i want to thank all the teachers at the school for showing me the best school experience in my life.

I really enjoyed class trips like our school camp for it we went to the Waiwera hot pools and Tiritiri Matangi a wildlife bird sanctuary where we saw very endangered native birds like the Takahe, Saddleback, Kakapo, kokako and the  North Island Robin i really enjoyed this year and i hope next year is better.
