Welcome to Room 4s first Blog for 2011.
This year your webslingers are Kacey and Quinn. We will have lots of fun activities going on around the school. So we will be bringing you lots of news from around the school.
This week on Wednesday Room 4 will be running assembly, Kacey and Jayden are this years class reps so they will be running it.
This year we have already had Three lunch time sports. They are Cricket, Scatterball and Tug-O-War. We have also started winter sports.They are Netball, Hockey and Basketball. There are also lots of other sports that people are involved in out of school.
So come and check out our class next term in week 1. We will bring you more things when they happen.

A.F.L16/5/11
On the ninth of May we had some special guests.They were from the AFL Kiwi Kick. They are going to be here for 6 weeks and will be teaching us how to play AFL they will show us a lot of skills.
There names are Lloyd, Sarah, Paul and Jury.So far we have learnt how to aim the ball with a technique called drop punting. Every session is about 45 minutes long.

Goal Shooting Relays30/5/11 It is week 5 and last week we had a new lunchtime sport. It is the Goal Shooting Relays. Each sydincate has four teams, one from each class except Tawa and Nikau they have a Barbarian team which is a mix of all there classes.
Last Monday we started by having each class from Kowhai and Rimu battle out for the best ranking in the challenge. Then on Tuesday we had Matai,Tawa and Nikau challenge. On Wednesday the 4th ranked teams battled each other. On Friday we had the 3rd ranked and today the 2nd. Room 4 came 2nd in Kowhai's relay ( Room 5 1st, 2nd Room 4, 3rd Room 3 and 4th Room 2). Tomorrow we will have 1st ranked.
Reading Competition 201120/06/11On Thursday 16 June (last week) we started our annual READING COMP!!!!! It is going on at lunch time. This year each syndicate picked one class rep to judge the competition.
First it was Kowhai's turn. The representatives were Kelly Room 3, Jennifer Room 2 and Jordan Room 5 (Room 4 didn't have any one). The winner was Kelly Room 3 reading The Intruder.
We also have Soccer going on for the lunchtime sports. Room 4's team has played twice, unfortunately we lost both of the games.

Speeches and Cross Counry22/8/11
This week on Friday is our annual Cross Country. We go in year levels , there's the year 7 girls, year 7 boys, the year 8 girls and then the year 8 boys. The top ten from each group will advance to Barge Park.
This term we have our school Speech Competition. In Room 4 this week we have our class Speech Competition. Then next week or the week after we will have our Syndicate Speech Competition.

RWC13/09/2011Kia ora. Welcome to the World Cup.
The last four Friday's we've had mufti days. We still have two weeks to go. This is to support the Rugby World Cup. we all have to bring a gold coin. Each class got to pick a country out of a hat to learn about. We got Canada.
Coming up this term is the Vanuatu trip which group 1 has already gone, They left at 5:30am on Saturday, the next group leaves on Saturday 19 September again at 5:30am.
We also have the Northland Cross Country, Roadshow, Speeches, Intensives and heaps more!

The final blog for 201129/11/11Welcome to term 4. There is only two and a half weeks left of the school year. There has been a lot of events that have happened over the last couple of weeks including the Technology Exhibition, the Girls High Orientation Day, Athletics, Intensives and heaps more.
Today (Tuesday November 29th 2011) the top three athletes in each field (Discus, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot put and 100, 200 and 800 meter sprints) have gone down to Kensington Park to represent K.I.S.
Also coming up this term is the social, the Kamo High Orientation Day and the Final Assembly for the leaving year 8's, good luck for the future!!!
