Room 2 Camp

11/4/11

On week 3 Room 2 went on the best camp in the world, The Farm! 

We had the best time ever doing, motor biking, horse riding, kayaking and much more. The camp hosts where from all around the world to help out on camp.

Room 4 was on camp as well but in different areas than Room 2. This camp was a blast, thanks to all the caregivers and camp runners. A big thanks to Mike and Allen.

Kowhai Cricket

Today the Year 7 Kowhai team played the year 7's from Nikau. It has only been the first inning but so far the game has been amazing, Nikau was batting and have got a score of 86. Caleb (Nikau) had a score of 54, AMAZING! Next lunch Kowhai will be batting and first in will be Liam & Devon. Good luck, may the best team win. By Max & Logan

Hi everyone its Kelsey and Iona here. Sorry if you miss Logan and Max but they'll be doing library blogs for the next three sessions, don't worry we are more fun so enjoy the blog. Right now Ionas sitting next to me and totally obsessed with the word schumutz its driving me crazy. Now Ionas going to type. Good luck she raves on a bit.

Hi everyone, its the fun one, Iona. I'll tell you about the fun stuff in our class and Kelsey will tell you about the not so fun stuff because she's always sooo serious. So fun stuff . . .   Our cool as student teacher, Miss Michelson (a.k.a Miss Mic) is teaching for 5 weeks. If we are good and get HANDBALL GAME written on the board she will buy us fish and chips and spend a whole afternoon playing HANDBALL with us. Last week we spent one afternoon making and eating popcorn. Our other student teacher miss clarke is coming back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that pretty much sums it up, I'm sorry but its time for sooo serious Kelsey!

Hey I'm totally not sooo serious, just a bearer of not sooo fun news. So before I start, i'll say this, you can see how Iona drags on. Any way the not sooo fun news, well Miss Michelson (a.k.a Miss Mic) is leaving in two weeks  =(. There's not too much not sooo fun info today thats it.

Stage Challenge

Hi its Iona and kelsey here and where going to tell you about KIS Stage Challenge amazing placing. First i'll tell you what went down in Forum North the 24/ 6/ 2011 Stage Challenge night. The whole day we partied and won prizes it was a blast! Here are all the awards we won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know what the best part is?... WE CAME 2nd!!!!!!!!!!!!! Against all those other high schools, only 1 beat us Whangarei Girls High.

The Money System

The money system, is a system for when your good in class and you get fake money from the teacher. At the end of the week you gather up all the money and add it together, and then tell the teacher how much you've earned. At the end of six weeks you add up the total amount of your money and we have an auction. In the auction we have:
10 chocolate bars
5 sport balls
And the grand prize in the auction a.....

Cool ay! Anyway lets talk about something that matters like the Minstrel. He came to the school the other day to be precise  on Friday in the first block. He talked about boat safety and fishing for the future. We learnt things like, what a flare and a beacon. It was soooo much fun! I Kelsey went up on stage with Cynthia, my friend. Cynthia refused to dance. So I got her arms, got behind her and started to make them move. Unfortunately I didn't  win a prize. Oh well thats all for today.

Science Fair

 On week one we had our annual Science Fair it was interesting to see all the competition entries.

There were a lot of good projects there but only a few people go to the Central Northland Science & Technology Fair at Forum North.

There was a variety of science boards. There were hands on projects, projects with demonstrations of what happens & just plain information.

Rugby World Cup Tabloids

On Friday we had the special Rugby World Cup Tabloids. Every class adopted a participating country in the Rugby World Cup. We had lots of fun, all the teachers had to set up games and we got rated on our Channel K spirit and behaviour. We went through about 8 rounds of games and challenges, it was an action packed morning of fun and games. It was good to see all of the class's with all there cool  country colours!
