GOAL SHOOTING RELAY CHAMPIONSHIP - 2010
Room 3 vs Room 8 vs Room 14 vs Room 15 vs Nikau A
Thursday 17th June 2010

What is the "Goal Shooting" Championship?

Each class has a team of 16 people. Each person takes one goal scoring skill (Basketball x4, Netball x4, Hockey x2, Rugby x2, Soccer x2 and Frisbee x2). It is a relay so they must score a goal before moving on to the next skill. The fastest to complete the entire relay wins.

The 5 classes in the Championship final were Room 3 representing Kowhai, Room 8 were there for Matai, Room 14 flew the flag for Tawa, Last years champions Room 15 were trying to retain their title and Nikau A made up the final rive.

They all made a great start, but Room 15 got a slight lead after the basketball shooting and increased it over the netball. Finally after the frisbee toss Room 15 had a clear margin over Room 14 and won easily. Room 14 came in second and Room 8 finished in third.

Meanwhile in the race for all the second ranked teams, Room 11 from Tawa won the Plate, ahead of Room 7 (Matai) and third placed Room 18 (Rimu)

Congratulations to the winners of each race and especially to Mrs Hudspith's Room 15, Back to Back Champions!

SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP - 2010
ROOM 5 vs ROOM 8
Monday 11th May 2010

The Soccer Championship Final was between Room 5 from Kowhai and Matai's Room 8.

In wet conditions and with a strong wind blowing the ball around, the game was very tight and not many chances came each teams way. Late in the game Room 5 had a couple of great chances but couldn't quite get the ball in the goal. So it ended up with a penalty shootout.

In the penalty shootout here were some great saves by both goalies and a few misses out wide. But the NEW Soccer World Champions for 2010 are Room 5!

Well Done Everyone and to our Winners ROOM 5 TAU KE (Awesome).
