K.I.S BOYS 1st XI CRICKET TEAM
vs Whangarei Intermediate
Wednesday 16th March 2011
Our Boys 1st XI Cricket Team played Whangarei Intermediate's Boys Cricket Team in a 35 over match for the Milo Intermediate Cricket Series. It was also a part of the WIS-KIS Shield Inter-School Competition.
We had a great win with WIS batting first and getting 49 off just 20 overs (all out), while we reached their target without losing a wicket. The win came off a great bowling performance by our team but especially Quinn who had figures of 4 overs, 3 maidens, 4 wickets for 4 runs!!! Our next game will be against Pompallier who beat Huanui School in their match.
Well done to our boys and especially KIS Manager, Selector and Coach Mr Witten with help from Ms Butler and Dean Williams (Northland Coaching Specialist).

TONGAN RWC TEAM VISIT TO KAMO INTERMEDIATE
Tuesday 20th September - 2OXI
With the Rugby World Cup on and Whangarei getting to host 2 games at the Northland Event Centre (Okara Park) Tonga vs Canada (25-20 to Canada) and Tonga vs Japan we got to have a visit from the Tongan RWC Team.
We didn't know who would turn up, but we got a treat as their captain Finau Maka was one of the visitors as well as Thomas Palu, William Helu and Alaska Taufa 2 team officials and former K.I.S teacher Adrienne Battersby (thanks to her they actually came here).
They wanted a low-key affair so we still performed a haka and then they went to Room 3 to be asked questions before heading out to the field to do some drills and play games with the students.
Thank you so much for visiting us and you know who we'll be cheering for . . . GO TONGA GO!!!

CROSS COUNTRY - 2OXI
Friday 26th August 2OXI
As usual, the K.I.S Cross Country is the most anticipated sports event on the Kamo Intermediate sports calendar for both good (our athletes train for this) and bad (non athletes dread this). This year it took place on a lovely Friday afternoon.
First up were the Year-7 Girls with Madi (Nikau) winning, Jess (Kowhai) second and Portia (Rimu) third.
Next was the Year-7 Boys with Vernest (Kowhai) winning, Lewis (Rimu) second and Callum (Nikau) third.
The First of our Senior Races was the Year-8 Girls with Ella (Matai) repeating her win from last year, Emma (Matai) improving to second, last year she was third and Mackenzie (Nikau) coming in third.
The final race was the Year-8 Boys with last year's second place-getter Adam (Rimu) winning this year, second was Sam (Nikau) and third was Callum (Kowhai).
Congratulations to everyone who competed and did their best, and well done to our 4 Champions Madi, Vernest, Ella & Adam!!!
TERM THREE SPORTS AT KAMO INTERMEDIATE
