Friday 11th February - 2OXI

We were very lucky to have a visit from not only the 7 former Kamo Intermediate Students Laura Douglas, Ella Gunson, Chalotte Harrison, Samantha Harrison, Jasmin McQuinn, Stacey Michelsen & Anna Thorpe but also we had the pleasure of meeting Anita Punt, Sally Rutherford, Black Sticks Coach Mark Hager & Fitness Trainer Brad Causer.
The Black Sticks were then asked about themselves, which position they played and for our former students which class they used to be in. They also talked about what they practiced for when they were Intermediate kids and what they did now to keep their skills up.
They were only meant to be here for an hour, but after having their assembly, they were lovely enough to sign autographs for the crowd of excited KIS students. Thank you to everyone who came and we wish you continued success, We know we'll all be cheering for you!!!

After 3 long terms, this fourth and final term is a really quick but intense time here at Kamo Intermediate. Being only 7 weeks long but we still have 10 weeks of events to fit in.
At least we started off in the best possible way, with the NEW ZEALAND ALL BLACKS winning the RUGBY WORLD CUP!!! Well done to the team, the management and of course to the 4.5 million supporters they had in their back pocket (They sure had to have every single one of us to get past a fired up French side).
Oops back to school news. In week two of this term is our famous K.I.S Intensives! Students get to choose between sailing and animal survival, chocolate lovers and tap cloths, Screenprinting and mountain biking. Starting on Wednesday 2nd November and finishing on Friday 4th November, the kids experience new activities, some old favourites and of course, a little bit of exhaustion!
Our Athletics Championships start on Monday 7th November before we have the Finals on Friday the 18th November. The champions and medal winners then represent Kamo Intermediate at the Whangarei WPSSA Athletics Championships at the Whangarei Athletics track.
We have the Bi-Yearly Technology Exhibition, which this year will be totally different then previous exhibitions. We will have guest presenters and activities during the week which also has the School Gala & food Festival.
Finally in the last week of the school year, we hand out the certificates and awards to the students before we bid them a bon farewell as they head off to High School on Wednesday 14th of December.
