Mr John SMITH

Principal

Mr John Smith is the Principal of Kamo Intermediate.

Marshall Smith has been the 'LAW' around these parts now since 1994, and he is the Originator of our "CHANNEL K" Philosophy!

His interests include rugby, cricket, golf and SPORTS! He also has a passion for cowboys, western movies and photography. Check out Mr Smith's World Tour Page to see what he did in 2005 (it is very interesting).

Mr Peter NICHOLSON

Deputy Principal

Mr Peter Nicholson is one of our Co-Deputy Principals.

Mr Nic's interests are sports, rugby, sports, hockey, sports, tennis and sports. As well as being the C.E.O of the KIS Hockey Programme (his family is heavily involved in Northland Hockey), he also has a passion for Art and is very knowledgeble about this and many other subjects.

He also has the knack of finding embarrassing photos of ex-students when they come here to work, teach or visit.

Mr Rick KIVELL

Deputy Principal

Mr Rick Kivell is our other Co-Deputy Principal.

Mr K's interests are - sports, rugby, sports, athletics, sports, science, maths, gardening and JOKES??? His biggest passion is watching sports.

Mr Kivell runs the Maths and Science Extensions, is also part of the Central Northland Science Fair Committee and helps Mr Epskamp keep up the level of our Science Fair Exhibits. He is also an expert on the curriculum.

Mrs S DRAKE

Chief Executive Officer

Mrs Sue Drake is the K.I.S CEO and is in charge of . . . nearly everything.

Her interests are in sports Waka Ama (she represented NZ in Hawaii in the World Masters competition), she also teaches local RPM classes at the gym and has a passion for . . . THE WARRIORS (our NRL League team).

Mrs Drake is also a guitar player, harmonica player and the banjo!!! We also like her taste in music.

Ms. Ferne KINI

Front Office Staff

A past student of Kamo Intermediate School and Citizenship Award winner at that (a long time ago) :o). Ms Ferne Kini works in our reception/office area, always ready with a smile.

Her interests include socialising, walking/running, and music. Quite often heard singing to her iTunes!!! She also has her big brother working here.

Mrs J LADD

Student Support Co-Ordinator

Mrs Ladd is our Student Support Co-ordinator.

Mrs Ladd is here to help those students who need some support and to help parents as well.She is also the Liaison between the school and the Maori community here at Kamo.

Mrs Ladd is a great guitar player and is always ready with a smile.

Mrs Jenny WILSON

School Librarian

Mrs Jenny Wilson is our "Keeper of the Books".

Mrs Babara MICHELSEN

Resource Room

Our Mrs Barbara Michelsen works in the school Resource Room. This is arguably one of the busiest rooms in the school.

Mrs Michelsen also has a passing interest in Hockey (She coaches the schools First XI Girls and her daughters have played representative Hockey for Northland and New Zealand).

Miss Tania LINTONBON

Front Office/Canteen/Day Zero Administrator

Miss Tania Lintonbon is the latest edition to the K.I.S Whanau and enjoys working in the "Best Intermediate In The World"

Miss Lintonbon is the Canteen Lady and organises "Day Zero Lessons". She can be quite often heard singing along with Ferne to her iTunes!  :0)

Mrs SANDY GARDINER

Front Office Staff

Mrs Sandy Gardiner is the latest addition to the K.I.S Front Office.

She looks after the school's banking, Sick Bay and is also in-charge of emailing out our schools newsletter to all those people interested in receiving it and keeping up-to-date on all things K.I.S.
