The dreaded "KIS Cross Country" was on Thursday 19th August. The weather was cold and it was drizzling rain on and off during the 4 races that afternoon.
First up were the Year-7 Girls. Not only was it a very competitive race, but the top 6 finishers are all hockey players! Congratulations to Ella from Room 16 for a great win. Well done to Mackenzie of Nikau B and Emma from Room 7 for coming in second and third!
The Year-7 Boys race was a very different race to the girls as the leaders after the first lap the twin Brothers of Callum & Flynn, were overtaken coming back into school. Duncan Room 6 fiknished the strongest to give him the win followed by Adam from Room 5. Callum & Flynn came in third and fourth respectively.
The Year-8 girls race was in the same vein as the Year-7 boys with last years champion Katrina Room 6 coming from behind in a very well judged race to be a 2 Time Champion. Chloe from Room 5 pipped Kennedy from Nikau B to come in second.
Awesome effort to our champions and place getters and well done to all those who participated. Ano Te Pai!!!
