WEBSLINGERS 2008
KIS WEBSLINGERS 2008
-X GROUP 2008-
"Part of the Kamo Intermediate Extension/Enrichment Programme"
Our Extension Programme takes all year to plan, but the Extension Groups (X-Groups) begin in Term 2 every year. WebSlingers is one of those groups. Selected students from each class create webpages on their room, teacher and classmates to give a taste of life at K.I.S from the inside. They gather news, photos and interviews and upload them for all to see.
Remember to comeback often as we update our website to keep the world updated on the “Best Intermediate In The World!!!”

CRAVING TO BE IN CONTROL
By Danica (KidzBiz Reporter and WebSlinger Veteran)
“Sup Paps!” Iain and I chant as we enter Kamo Intermediate’s computer suite. Papanui, our Webmaster extraordinaire crouches over his sleek apple laptop, his nimble finger darting over the chattering keys.
A select few of Kamo Intermediate schools student body are privileged enough to be a part of a secret association…Web-Slingers; a web design extension. In Web-Slingers the main weapons are your computer, the internet and your imagination.
Over the year we create a web page turning the once gaping, white page presenting itself on our screens, into a website jostled with photos, stories, nicks and knacks. Unfortunately this web surfing occurs every second Monday for Iain and myself.
Iain dives for the best seat craving to be in control of the laptop. “Settle down, settle down,” coos Paps, “Time to get down to work”
An orange vibrant banner illuminates the screen as we begin our lesson…word processing, graphic design, digital imaging and data collection.
Hesitantly, the lesson ends, “And you two”, Paps nods briefly to us, “have earned yourself a principal award.” Iain and I gingerly clasp the awards and troop slowly to the door.
“Bye Paps.” We wave vibrantly and walk off back to class, another set of valuable computer skills under our belt.
