(SEE PHOTOS BELOW IN OUR GALLERY)
This years Beach 2 Basin Fun Run took place on Sunday in not the best weather, cold drizzling rain. Still over 2000 runners took part, an impressive number by any means.

Kamo Intermediate as always was well represented with 58 teams (5 members in each team) meaning 290 students took part in this years event that is almost half the student population at K.I.S!!!

Well done to everyone who represented us well and a thank you to all those adult helpers who come along also. A SPECIAL THANKS must go to our organising team of Mr Epskamp and Mr Nicholson.

Just another reason why we are

BEACH TO BASIN 2008 – Sunday 2nd March
-By Harry L – Room 13

The “Beach2Basin” for 2008 was about to start.

The anticipation sizzled in the air, hovering over the crowd of keen runners. Everywhere you looked there were kids from Kamo Intermediate, BEST INTERMEDIATE IN THE WORLD!

The hooter screamed, we were off.

I settled into a rhythm, feet pounding the pavement. Then all I could hear was the sound of blood rushing through my veins.

My heart was thumping like a maniac.
The muscles in my legs were burning.
My lungs were gasping.
Then the finish line was in sight.
It was over, I’d done my best.
Exhilarating, Fantastic.
I can’t wait for next years Beach2Basin!!!

2008’s KIDS TRIATHLON – Sunday 9th March
-By Harry L – Room 13

I left my bike there, I’m sure I left it by that post. Soggy and dripping, I stared in disbelief at the row of bikes that had suddenly appeared where mine was.

That’s just great! I blitzed the swim and now I’m wasting crucial time looking for my bike. How many black bikes can their be? Answer HUNDREDS! The panic was setting in, as I sprinted up and down the rows, running my race before I’d even started.

Then just as my frustration was at boiling point, I saw it. My bike, by the post with my stuff on it, exactly where I’d left it! OOPS!
