SPORTY EVENTS9/06/2008
23/05/2008: Winter sports. It’s a phenomenon of the primary and intermediate world. It’s a tournament, with a wide range of sports for people to play from netball to hockey and rugby to soccer. It’s a massive day that’s not easy to forget.
30/05/2008: Lunch time sport T-Ball. We have just received or second runner up shield for the championship side of the draw. It’s a bit disappointing losing the final game two times in a row. But at least it was to another class in the syndicate.
9/06/2008: Lunch time sport Soccer: Today we had a second chance in soccer, in the first round we had a bye and then we lost to room 17 in the quarter finals. But today we had and guardian angel looking over us by giving us a second chance we took that chance and made it. We beat room 14 and now we’re back in the race for the final.

RECENT RECAPProcedural Speeches and Crafty Consumers! So our next not-so-big assignment is to write a procedural speech. But it’s not as big and complicated as the name suggests. Basically, we have to explain how something works or how to do it. This can include anything from playing rugby to making something in lego…I think. But hopefully you get the point by now. What kind of things will people come up with? You know what, I’m going to stop since that topic is exhausted already and talk about something else. Our topic this term is Crafty Consumers. The majority of work has been to do with early Maori and Europeans, what they traded, and how they treated the sea, but we haven’t done too much work yet.

SPEECH AND SPORTS19th August 200819th August: For the past week we have been reporting on current events. As you may have guessed most of our speeches have been on the Bejiing Olympics like how the Evers-Swindell twins won by just 100th of a second or how Mahe Drysdale was badly sick but still took the bronze medal.
Also we have been playing netball for our interclass sport. Room 6 had our first game last week against Nikau-B and Room 6 won 11-1.
Another interclass sport was table tennis Room 6 played a fantastic game and we won all of our games.

Intensives WOW3 November 2008
Intensives has just been and it’s gone for another year. Intensives is an intence 3 days of pure work, pretty mean eh? But if you like that stuff over Paintball, Sailing, Animal Survival and Action World you need to get outside a bit more. But the lucky fellas who went to Samoa for the week had just got back Saturday. (And drum roll please, da, ba, da, ba, da, ba, da, ba, do do do do ) Tiritiri Matangi Bird sanctuary is our next destination for this year and following that we are going to Waiwera Hot Pools. This is happening on the 27th of November. We are going there because we are studying New Zealand’s endemic and native amimals. We will see birds there that you will rarely see out of bird sanctuaries in New Zealand like the Kokako, Takahe, Tuataras, Kiwis and hopefully no rats.

Lunchtime Sport17th NovemberRoom 6 played our second capture the rugby ball game against Nikau B.
It was a blazing hot day and the people that were playing were very tired.
It was really tough on everyone but Nikau B ended up winning. Good game!
