ROOM 3'S FIRST BLOG

10th June 2008

This week our classes Soccer team lost our first game against Room 8 . . . Again. We have now lost to them in T-Ball (which was the Plate final so we came 2nd) and Scatterball as well.

Other things that are happening, some of our Year 8’s are coming close to finishing our…
Gumball Dispensers in Hard Materials with Mr Brown, YUMMY GUMBALLS!

Thursday was a lot of fun. For World Environmental Day we had to hug a tree and tell it 3 ‘Channel K’ Comments. But what wasn’t a lot of fun was having an environmental clean up in the class, desk move around, clean the microwave it was a lot of hard work!
I hope next week can be as action packed as this week!!

ROOM 3'S SECOND BLOG

3RD July 2008

This was a great week, um… Kinda, specialists is always great and class is class.

For fitness we’ve been doing Jump Jam. It’s really embarrassing because you do it in front of the rest of the syndicate.  Although it’s good for rainy day fitness because you do it in the hall.

In class we have been starting our study on the water cycle. Our teacher “Whaea Katarina” went on youtube to find a good song to teach us about the water cycle. It was really annoying and got stuck in our heads but it taught us a lot.

Ohh and how could we forget Matariki, we did a lot to celebrate that, we made memory stars, flax weaving and a few people even brought in some kai. That was great! If  you don’t know what Matarki is, (even though you probably do) ask someone in Room 3!

Also Kamo Intermediate won the Stage Challenge. Su young, Shannon and Kathy from Room Three were members of the fifty-five contestants from our school.

The Social is on Thursday night at 6:30 in the hall.

ROOM 3 BLOG #3

12.8.08

The past week or so our class has been doing a study on Asian countries. At assembly we found out we would also be studying another country for the Olympics… Hungary. We have not started yet but we think it will be loads of fun. We have also been preparing for the lunchtime netball competition, so the other classrooms better watch out!

So overall the start to Term Three has been great with new topic studies and specialists. We think we will all enjoy it especially when our new classroom is finished, it’s just started to get done up today!

Room 3 Blog #5

Last term we moved into our new classroom and put art all over the walls. We have also been enjoying our brand new active board. The Roadshow was very exciting, especially the room 3 dancers.

This term we are doing a marine reserve study and we are going to Reotahi and Goat Island and we are going to be snorkelling there to see the fish and go on the glass bottom boat in a safe fishy environment.

Also this term we are doing intensives and some people are going to Samoa or Vanuatu. We have also found out that room 3 is the bomb because we won netball and for once Kowhai came first at netball! Woot!

Lately the Vanuatu and Samoa peeps have left and come back. They were looking at the island schools and the people from Vanuatu kicked the Vanuatu groups gluteus maximises at soccer. They also went snorkelling and to Ekasup Village which is a tourist attraction.

Also we have had intensives… they were fun. Yay. The most popular intensive by far was paintball followed by chocolate lovers… I think.

Athletics is coming soon. Yay, and Kowhai is going to kick their gluteus maximises!

BLOG #7

In the last two weeks we have had the school athletics. Of course Kowhai won in a lot of events: year 7 girls Long jump, year 8 boys shot put, year 8 boys discuss, year 8 boys high jump, year 8 boy 200 metre, year 8 boy 100 metre, year 7 girl 200 metre, year 7 girl relay and more... so, get the point, we rock.

Also in the last two weeks we have been to Mcgreggors Bay instead of Reotahi because of the winds, although we did change plans it was still alright. We are also going to Goat Island, the Marae and Poor Knights.

Note: we are selling raffle tickets for our trip, please buy one.
