Line dancing

1st September 2008

During week 4 of Term 3, Kowhai started Line dancing for Syndicate fitness with Bev our line-dancing instructor. Line dancing was fun and we did various dances like Hitch and Stray Cat Strut. It was quite hard to learn some of the dances but others were easy. Altogether it was different to our usual  syndicate fitness but it was fun and it really gets you going.

McGregors Bay

10/11/08

On Friday the 7th of November Room 2 and 4 went to McGregor’s Bay. Most of the cars got lost on the way and it was really funny. We also went snorkelling and it was really cold and some of us walked around the rocks and we had to identify all the different animals, seaweed. We had a sand castle competition people in our class made boats and the white house. The funniest thing was the snorkelling because people were afraid of standing on the Stingrays. The whole day was really fun.

Marine Reserves

25/11/08

This term Kowhai are doing marine reserves. We have already been to McGregors bay on the 7th of November and Goat island on the 14th of November. We had to compare McGregors Bay to Goat island which is the oldest New Zealand marine reserve! At McGregors Bay we saw Spotties, Eagle Rays, Cushion Starfish and much more! At Goat island we saw Blue MaoMao, Snapper, Red Moki and lots of Eagle Rays! We definitely saw more creatures at Goat island than at McGregors Bay!
