Nikau Camp-2008
Sand, Sun and Fun!
2008 Nikau Camp
Hungry, thirsty and with cramped legs, Nikau syndicate of Kamo Intermediate appeared over the hill at Coopers Beach in a convoy of care. Nikau had finally arrived at their camping destination 2008.
As bunks were claimed, sleeping bags unrolled and items scattered the teachers implied our first task. This was a walk to a Pa site looking over Doubtless bay. Nikau trampled over the beach and began the long, feet acing walk to the Pa site.
The food was great and Nikau had heaps of chances to do with teamwork and leadership. Lots of bonding occurred and confidence excelled. Not only was this camp fun, but educational as well! We learnt a lot about the township and location of Coopers Beach. We also tried lots of new activities that we never have tried before.
Sea biscuiting, kayaking, exploring the town, discovering ancient Kauri trees and whizzing down the flying fox. Nikau had waves of adrenalin rushes at Coopers Beach. Sand, sun and fun made this camp great for Nikau as well as the awesome teacher and parent help. Nikau students made new friends and experienced many new experiences. Coopers Beach Camp 2008 was truly exhilarating.
