WACKY WEB-SLINGERS
By Kate M (KidzBiz Journalist & WebSlinger)
Click on to the Kamo Intermediate website and instantly you will be swamped with colour, shapes, pictures and banners. The KIS Web-Slingers team creates all this work.
Any day of the week you will find two or more KIS students from one of our various classes, working together to make the best class web page. These kids are the Web-Slingers.
Creative juices flow as the Web-Slingers put pen to paper, to write exciting stories about their classrooms and mix and match colours together to make eye-catching, computer-generated banners, to try and win the school banner competition.
Papanui, the Cyber Lord (i.e. teacher in charge) takes control, by giving out advice, tips and lollipops! Web-Slingers is one of the best Extension classes and I am very happy to be in it.

K.I.S WebSlingers - Who Are We?
– 23rd April 2007 –
WebSlingers is part of the world famous K.I.S Extension Programme. All Extension classes begin at the start of Term 2 (Monday 23rd April).
WHO ARE WE? The WebSlingers are 2 or 3 students, chosen from each class (19 classes in total) to create, edit and update their classrooms Webpage.
WHEN DO THEY DO IT? They work with K.I.S Cyber-Lord Papanui on either a Monday or Tuesday every 2nd week (because of limited space, computers and time we do half the school one week, and the rest of the school the next). The rest of the week Papanui works in the Enrichment Room (Room 12) on the Enrichment Programme.
WHAT DO THEY DO? They write, photograph, interview and upload anything that is interesting in their classrooms. They must write articles on their Class Camp (and hopefully get photos), on their Teacher and on their Class Reps. Also if someone in their class is world famous we will let everyone know!
Remember to check back regularly to see how our students are doing, not only in the world that is Kamo Intermediate, but also with how the kids are getting on creating their Class Webpages!

WEBSLINGER POSTER TASK
– 13th to 15th November 2007 –
During the Technology Exhibition this year we had our Webslinger sessions in the hall as part of the week long festivities.
The task we asked of them was to create a poster advertising their class, and our website to the world. The rules were: they had one and a half hours (1 session) to complete this mission, They had to use photos they had already taken and they had to come up with an original slogan.
Below in the gallery you will find who was able to finished, and if they carried out the task . . . properly!!!
