Room 8's Camp 2007

LAUGHY LOOOONSDALE
Room 8 Camp 2007

By Jim and Joanne

On the last week of term 1 Room 8 went to Lonsdale Park for their camp. We got assigned our lodges and the year 7 girls got the HAUNTED lodge, MUWAHAHAHAHA!!

The first thing we did was Mrs Soderling gave us team lists and our team started a very loooong Amazing Race. The first placed team finished in only 4 hours, other teams finished in 6 hours with stinky wet feet and two broken wrists not naming anybody in particular.

That night we cooked our own food on hobo stoves because somebody forgot to pay the bills . . . NOT! (Hobo stoves are tins that have smaller tins with wax and cardboard for fuel:)

We went to Matauri Bay the next day. Split into two groups, one group made sculptures in the sand then climbed the mountain to the rainbow warrior memorial (it was REALLY STEEP) the other group went surfing.

Animal survival was in the afternoon and I was a goat but there were other animals. Mrs S was the man, (I mean the man in the game not meaning she was cool) . We came back to camp dirty and grimy.
The next day we went to sailing and Logan and Chad almost sank their sail boat the Microwave. There was duck poop.

That night we had team building games and some of us went eeling and saw nothing and got soaked falling off the bridge. Later that night was the fashion show, the weirdest fashion show ever. All the teams competed for a basket of Easter eggs group one won!

On our last day we went to Adventure World where we went on lots of circus things and mini golf! I nearly got a heart attack going on the highwire.
It started raining at one o’clock so we went home.

Our camp was the bomb!!!
