KIS Roadshow - The CHANNEL "K" Tour - 28th August - 7th September 2006
The Annual D2D Production of the "KIS Roadshow" travelled to schools around the Whangarei area. With performances mostly at our feeder schools, we hoped we have inspired and entertained the audience. Maybe the audience of TODAY will become the Stars of TOMORROW!!.

ROCKIN ROADSHOW
By Alana H (KIDZBIZ Journalist & Performer)

An ecstatic, energetic, crazy Lizzie C bounds onto the stage and shouts into the microphone, “Welcome to the Channel K 2006 KIS Roadshow tour! Tonight you will experience singing, dancing, acting, poetry recital and the beat of our bands!” she exclaims with her English accent twanging, to make her voice that little bit more exciting!

It starts with a bang, as the Nga Tipuranga Haka group emerges from the wings of the stage and gives us a fantastic opening performance, which grips you and gives you an adrenaline rush when they break into an over-whelming haka. After several absolutely, fabulous entertaining acts, back comes the crazy Lizzie with an announcement that relieves everyone… a ten-minute intermission! After everyone has had a chance to cool down and have a bit of chitchat with one another, another MC pulls everyone together and announces a special guest act.

Once everyone settles down, the mysterious act begins. The curtains are drawn and we see the fabulous, the amazing, the brilliant Mr. Smith standing in the middle of the stage doing a boogie! Other teachers join him and do a hilarious dance. We thought it was good, up until the moment the male teachers swamp the stage with their big butts! Then we thought it was great!

As a performer in the Roadshow I can tell you, from experience, it feels so good to be applauded. Everyone in the show got a giant cheer from the enthusiastic crowd, every time they performed! Every single person in that hall, I know, must have felt wonderful after that fantabulous show!

A big thanks to Mr Smith, Mr Hughes, Miss Delaney, Mr Witten and Whaea Katarina, because, without them, none of this would have been possible!
