Kitchen Chaos…
“Agghh! Any thing but that!!!” I exclaimed, groaning like a banshee. My worst nightmare had suddenly become a horrible reality…
“ Kitchen duty!” the parents hollered with savage smiles on their faces, wanting us to suffer. My group stepped into the kitchen like mindless slaves, ready for orders.
I held a stance like a half dead zombie, hovering over the sink. Gripping the blunt rusty peeler, I picked up a nobby carrot.
“ Well,” I said with a sarcastic sigh, “this is fun.” Logan cast me a look which said, “Just shut up you blithering idiot.”
The nobby carrot I had named Noblet, had finally been fully peeled. I pinched the vege knife from Logan and chopped Noblet in half. Unlike the peeler, the knife was razor sharp and sliced through Noblet like a breeze. That’s the best thing about being the kid on kitchen duty. . . surreptitiously eating your produce and leaving just enough for the consumer’s meal.
“ Oi!!!! What are ya doing!!?” scowled an angry mob of unhappy parents.
“Aghhh, n o t h i n g…” Caught!
