ROOM 16 2006

Camp at Aroha Island

On Tuesday the 28th of February, Room 16 headed off to camp. Once we had all our equipment loaded into the cars, we set off on an hour-long journey to Aroha Island, near Kerikeri.

Once we arrived, we unloaded all of the tents and started setting up. On our first day we had free time until dinner, followed by a kiwi walk.

The following day at 7am we were woken up by a whistle and sent off for our run. When we got back we were chased up to the kitchen and directed to eat a hearty breakfast of spaghetti, cereal, Milo and toast. The Milo tasted like rotten cabbage and smelt like peanut butter.

Camp Aroha was a great experience containing a series of really cool events such as, kayaking, sailing, class fights, drinking peanut butter, spotlight, trashing other peoples tents (don’t tell anyone!) and sailing the tall ship, R Tucker Thompson.

Camp Aroha was a great experience that the r16 students will remember for a long time.
