Room 5’s camp 2006
On the 12th of March 2006, made an unusual trip to school on a Sunday. The reason for this was our 2006 camp. This year Room 5 headed south to Mangawhai Heads for four action packed days together at the Campbell Park Christian Youth Camp. After about an hours drive we arrived at the Mangawhai Heads Estuary, to eat our lunch and wait patiently for the previous campers to leave the park. After waiting we headed up the hill to the campsite. Once we had unpacked we headed straight back down to the beach to have a swim and jump off the pontoon. Once we were dry we headed back to camp to have a meal of Burgers. After a nights sleep we set out to have another great day, enjoyed a 9 km walk along the beach (not!!!, well maybe some of us did), and then settled back down at camp to eat a dinner of nachos and mince. We slept in our cabins and woke up the next morning to find that we were going on yet another walk!!! Oh no!!! Later that day we enjoyed games of mini golf, volleyball, ripper rugby, and playing on the flying fox and the trampoline. For dinner that night we had Hot dogs and chips. Unfortunately we had reached our last day at camp… Dun, dun, dun… after packing up our things we headed off for our last visit to the beach. Finally we travelled back to Whangarei, to go home and enjoy a good nights sleep.
