LONSDALE PARK CAMP

Our class had an awesome camp at Lonsdale Park up north near Kaeo.

We headed up to Lonsdale Park on a Tuesday morning and came home on a Friday afternoon. Here’s what happened in-between.

On the first day we arrived at Lonsdale Park, all scrambled up to claim the top bunks for ourselves. We then headed off to Tepene Potteries Clay factory for a great tour, and went for a swim in the cold water of Matauri Bay.

On the Wednesday we drove over to the deep dark waters of Lake Manuwai, where our awesome class spent the day learning to sail. This was loads of fun and although the weather wasn’t the best we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The next day, Thursday the weather was better and we spent the day in three groups rotating around learning some interesting things about insects, the native New Zealand bush, the blind fold course, the commando course and the concentration course.

The Friday was just a pack up day and then we all headed home for a well-earned sleep. All in all we all had a fun filled, action packed camp
